Pocket Dreams
While cleaning out my closet, I stumbled upon some handcrafted drawings from my childhood when I was around five years old. In those innocent moments, I had sketched miniature versions of everyday objects, carefully colored them, and then cut them along the outlines. On the reverse side, I added more details, creating the illusion of 2D miniatures. I was both amazed by my childhood creativity and inspired to gift my younger self an imaginary journey into these whimsical worlds. Oh, the excitement I would have felt!
This childhood discovery became the inspiration for the collection “Pocket Dreams”.
Pocket Dreams was launched in the "Dash" World, curated by the Foundation team, on June 22, 2023.
It sold out within 4 hours.
Comprising a total of 150 unique artworks, "Pocket Dreams" is a testament to the power of imagination. Within this collection, 85 are brought to life through animation, while the remaining 65 remain as static illustrations, each offering a glimpse into my cherished childhood fantasies.
The collection was unveiled in the "Dash" World, curated by the Foundation team. "Dash" marks their second official digital exhibition. Being a part of it was a profound honor, especially as I had previously contributed to their inaugural World, "Replica", where my work, "Bubble Tea House", was released as editions. I am deeply grateful for the Foundation's invitations to collaborate, providing me with an opportunity to share my passion with a broader audience.
"Pocket Dreams" has been a labor of love and a cherished journey back in time to relive the creativity of my youth. I earnestly hope that these artworks will also spark joy and wonder in others, allowing them to step into a world where miniature objects serve as gateways to boundless adventures. It is my sincerest desire that the joy and inspiration within "Pocket Dreams" can resonate with all who encounter it, reminding each of us that the wonders of childhood imagination never truly fade away.
